| MT. MISEN Mt. Misen is the highest mountain on the island. There are seven wonders associated with the summit: a 1000-year-old sacred fire started by Shingon Buddhist sect founder Kobo Daishi (the Flame of Peace in Hiroshima was lit by this), Kobo Daishi's flowering plum tree staff, Mandala Rock, sea-filling rock hole, mysterious cherry tree, seasonal lights over the sea, tengu striking wooden clappers at midnight. |
